What. A. Start.

April 14, 2025

The Easts women couldn’t have asked for a better start to their 2025 season, securing a dominant 29–0 win over the Batemans Bay Boars. After months of hard work and preparation, the team took to the field for their first official match—and made a huge statement.

There were highlights across the park, but one that deserves a special mention: Lydia Attrill scoring the first ever official try for the relaunched easts women’s side—a massive milestone and moment for the team.

Lilly Scott followed with a strong line break to cross for her first ever try, taking advantage of some clean ball movement and sharp execution. Aleisha Payoe found the line twice, showcasing her strength and timing out wide.

Ella love was everywhere—breaking the line for a brilliant solo try and later running 70 metres in defence to shut down a boars breakaway. With the game already in hand, it would’ve been easy to ease off, but Ella's commitment never wavered.

On debut, Rayan was fearless—she didn’t shy away from the tough carries and made her presence known all over the park. Imogen delivered one of the tackles of the match with a front-on, one-on-one stop on a line break from a player twice her size. Farah was a defensive force all game, while Brooke’s strong carries and clean ball placement kept us building pressure.

Brooke continually threatened with strong carries and clean ball placement, while Scoot played heads-up footy, directing traffic and putting in smart kicks to gain field position. Maddie’s gritty defensive work stood out—tough, determined, and unshakable.

Despite hot conditions and some early nerves, the team stuck together, communicated well, and played with intent.

The culture that’s been building all pre-season was clear—this team plays for each other. It was more than just a win. It was a powerful sign of what’s to come.
